I love this! I actually got it for my ferrets and it is so much better than the normal cages for ferrets with all the levels. I had one of those at first (Kaytee ferret cage) and they kept pooping on all the levels and it was soooooo hard to take apart, clean and then put back together. With this it's so much easier they only go potty in their potties now that I put all the way on the left side. There's a corner potty in both corners and I got a reusable puppy training pad to put underneath, that covers the whole section to clean off their feets just in case. On the right side I attached one of their furry beds to the bottome like carpet and that way they can't move it around and hung a couple of beds. In the top house part I put their food, another puppy training pad (this ones just for comfort) and a couple other beds that don't hang or attach to anything (it's wood so you can't attach anything to it unless you attach it to the door). The water bottle it hung on the outside of the bottom right with the hanging beds. They love it! There is enough room for them to run around and play on the bottom. Not like a huge amount but definitely better than a normal ferret cage. Then they have the top house where it's dark and then don't have to be disturbed by lights or anything if they don't want to. Each section has a tray that you can pull out to clean. Before they were potty trained with corner potties I used small pet bedding and it got everywhere.. outside the cage and they would end up dragging it everywhere inside. It was a mess to clean. The poop would get on the wood and in the open holes of the cage and that was very hard to clean. It's also painted so if you clean with vinegar or even just scrub it and get it wet the paint comes off. Putting a potty in both corners really helped. Now I use the bedding in the potties and they only go in them! Ferrets don't want to use the bathroom everywhere, they usually make one spot their bathroom. If you don't keep it clean they will start using other spots. Now with a potty in each corner and the training pad it's easier than ever to clean! I just take out the potties, empty them, wash them, wash the training pad if it gets dirty or once every week, and vacuum any food crumbs or fuzzies left on the other two levels. Soooooo easy and it looks better in our home almost like a piece of furniture. The door on each section is also super convenient.
